INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Campus Involvement
UF Sparks Magazine

Prior to joining Sparks Magazine, I didn't interact with other AAPI students much at UF, and often felt disconnected from my culture and identity. Through the GBMs, socials, and PR meetings, I have met and grown close to so many friendly people. Even though it was stressful from time to time, this has been one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life, so much that I began considering public relations and communications again as a possible path after college. Also, my involvement in Sparks also prompted me to check out other AAPI organizations as well as feel more connected to my culture.
Undergraduate Linguistics Society
In the hopes of meeting other students who were interested in linguistics, I attended the ULS GBMs, and really enjoyed my experience of talking with other linguistics majors, participating in activities like Lingoween, Spanish in Transition, and Linguists against Humanity game night.
Path to Purpose

Throughout the fall semester, we worked on developing plans for a virtual exchange and mentoring session with a class of South African middle school students that took place in February 2023. As part of the ideation team of the project, I came up with ideas on potential questions to ask about the students' dreams, perception of community, etc. and exercises that would help the process be authentic and personal.
Key Coursework
In this course, I became more comfortable with interpreting both qualitative and quantitative data in academic articles. There were factors that I had not been aware of before, such as the resource curse and anocracies having a higher chance of experiencing civil conflicts than dictatorships.
POS4931
Civil Wars
I took this course in the fall of 2022, so I found it to be very relevant and helpful in understanding current events today. The class provided a comprehensive overview of the relationship between Russia and other post-Soviet countries and allowed me to analyze the factors that led to the current war in a nuanced and comprehensive way.
INR4931
Russian Foreign Policy
This was a discussion-based political science class in Spanish. It was fascinating to listen to my classmates' reflections and to contribute to the where I gained exposure to academic papers regarding different rights and movements within the Americas. While it has been challenging synthesizing information and contributing to in class discussions in Spanish, I find myself improving over time.
INR4931
Género, Derechos, y Política en América Latina
In this course, I was able to expose myself to various aspects of business while enhancing my vocabulary. From advertising and marketing to the stock market, I encountered a variety of topics that will prepare me for the professional world.

Spanish
From 0:38 to 1:03, you can hear me narrate the voiceover for a marketing project in my Commercial Spanish class.
